Zanesville Devilettes’ yearly craft bazaar
ZANESVILLE, Ohio – Zanesville Devilettes held their yearly craft bazaar at Secrest Auditorium on Saturday.
Devilettes founder Wayne Carpenter said they’ve held the bizarre for over thirty years. It started initially at Euclid Avenue Church with just 15 vendors but quickly out grew that. All the money raised goes towards uniforms, props, and banquets for the Devilettes.
“We have people with all types of different crafts. We have sweatshirts, t-shirts, wooden items, jewelry. There have been a lot of baked goods and cookies and Halloween things. There is Christmas decorations and Christmas wreaths. A little bit of everything,†said Carpenter.
There were 80 vendors on hand this year. In addition to raising money, Carpenter enjoys getting to see former Devilettes come together.
“I see a lot of people that I haven’t seen. That’s the one good thing about the Bizarre. I see a lot of alumni Devilettes that come back to see what is here. And I get a chance to reminisce about the old times,†said Carpenter.
Now that football season is over the Devilettes will get ready for Blue Devil basketball in December.
