Student shoots music video at Zanesville Middle School

ZANESVILLE, Ohio — A local middle schooler is chasing big dreams and bringing her hometown along for the ride.
13-year-old Breleigh Curtis or better known as Breleigh Rael is an up-and-coming talent here in Zanesville. She’s gained major support from her community as she branches out into exciting new opportunities including Disney auditions, music releases, modeling, and more. Her latest music video? Shot right at Zanesville Middle School.
“The music video is at my school, Zanesville, it’s for my new song “Often” and the school video is about this boy who I’m kind of into but I’m a little shy, so I see him at school and I’m just daydreaming about him,” Curtis said.
Though she’s a hometown girl, Breleigh has had the chance to travel for her craft, most recently heading to L.A. this summer, a trip that only deepened her love for the arts.
“I was out in L.A. for a little bit during the summer. It was an amazing experience. I was working with people that were so much into the industry. I was working with people who have worked with Post Malone, Mary J. Blige and many other celebrities.”
Despite her growing career, Breleigh still puts school first. A standout student at ZMS, she continues to excel in the classroom with full support from the school staff cheering her on.
“I mean it’s pretty special, Breleigh is a fantastic student here and the fact that she wants to use her school as something that’s kind of kicking off her career and something that she’s really passionate about. It excites us, you know we’ve built a pretty good schoolwide culture here and the fact that she’s just continuing with that…it’s pretty awesome,” ZMS principal Adrian Williams said.
