32nd Annual Hull Pottery Show Celebrates Ohio’s Ceramic Legacy

CROOKSVILLE, Ohio July is a big month for pottery here in Southeast Ohio, and the Hull Pottery Association is hosting its Annual National Show and Sale.

Collectors and dealers from across the country are heading to Crooksville to celebrate the region’s rich pottery legacy. Known for its deep roots in ceramic artistry, Zanesville and surrounding cities once played a key role in America’s pottery production making this event a homecoming of sorts for enthusiasts.

“This is our 32nd annual show and sale. It’s held at the Crooksville High School Friday the 11th and Saturday at 12. The show hours are 10–3 on Friday and 10–2 on Saturday and at 9 o’clock we have early admission, if you belong to the association you get in early,” HPA treasurer Keith Knowles said.

Tables will be filled with one-of-a-kind Hull pieces from rare art lines to vintage collectibles. Visitors will have the chance to explore pottery styles that span several decades of design and craftsmanship.

“This is kind of a representation of what Hull did they started out doing what they call the floral  art lines, those were in like the 20s, 30s, 40s and 50s they did that well then they progressed into the dinnerware lines which is the coffee cups, canister sets and then they did these in the 60s and 70s, the piggy banks those have always been popular,” Knowles said.

The show is free and open to the public. Whether you’re a long-time collector, a first-time visitor, or simply someone who appreciates a bit of local pottery and history, there’s something for everyone to enjoy at the HPA National Show and Sale.
