South Zanesville Fire Department and Amrou Grotto Meat Raffle

SOUTH ZANESVILLE, OH – If you’re looking for a fun way to support local first responders, and maybe fill your freezer, there’s a raffle in South Zanesville you won’t want to miss.
The Amrou Grotto and the South Zanesville Fire Department are teaming up to host a meat raffle on Saturday, March 7th at the Amrou Grotto Prophets Park. Doors open at 6 p.m. with the raffle starting at 7. Admission is $5 and includes snacks and soda. Participants can buy raffle tickets for a chance to win a variety of meats and prizes.
“We have steaks, ribs, hamburger, chicken, anything you could buy at a grocery store meat wise; we will have it. We have pork tenderloins that are 5 pounds apiece. It’s a great opportunity for you to stock up your refrigerator or freezer.” South Zanesville Fire Chief, Russell Taylor said.
Organizers say the event is a is a great way for the community to help support the South Zanesville Fire Department and the Amrou Grotto, while enjoying a fun night with friends and neighbors.
“The Grotto uses their money for some in-house expenses. Their charity is to help handicap kids, so, some of the money goes towards that. For us, we use it for equipment because we try to keep updated on current equipment that’s available. It helps make our job easier when someone needs help.” Chief Taylor said.
Remember to bring a cooler for your winnings and keep an eye out for additional side raffles throughout the evening.
The Amrou Grotto is located at 2560 Old River Road in Zanesville. For more details, check out the South Zanesville Fire Department’s Facebook page.
