County Commissioners discuss 7th Street County Building Parking
ZANESVILLE, Ohio- The Muskingum County Commissioners met to discuss a parking crisis at a downtown county building.
Representatives from the Muskingum Valley Educational Services Center, Children Services and the Health Department met with County Commissioners this afternoon to address the issue and possible fixes to the lack of parking at the County Services building on 7th Street in downtown Zanesville.
“All of us have costumers that visit our entities for the purposes of generally something with county and or school business. As a result when you take all of our employees and all of the costumers that visit our various entities, we end up with a full parking lot and it makes it tough for everyone to find enough parking spaces.” said the Superintendent of Muskingum Valley Educational Service Center, David Branch
Branch and others discussed various solutions including moving fleet vehicles as well as the possibility of a new parking space.
“One of the things that might happen in the future as I understand it is some parking in the Secrest Auditorium area maybe opened up and it could be such that, that would be an available set of spots for during the day business.”
Branch added that residents living near the building and parking in the lot will be asked and enforced to move their vehicles.
