Straker Foundation Announces Small Grant Cycle

ZANESVILLE, OH – The J.W. and M.H. Straker Foundation is once again helping bring community projects to life with the launch of its latest small grant cycle.

Applications open August 1st and close August 31st. The foundation will award grants of up to $25,000 for projects in Muskingum County. Preference will be given to projects that can be completed from start to finish within that budget.

“This is what we call a small grant cycle. Sometimes, a small amount can make a huge difference to a nonprofit. Nonprofits in our community do amazing work and I think if we can help them do that work, we just enhance the county.” Senior Program Director, Pam Kirst said.

Educational institutions, government entities, and 501 C 3 nonprofit organizations in Muskingum County can apply. The foundation says projects focused on education, community growth, and the arts are encouraged.

“It could be for putting on a new program or completing a renovation of an office. That kind of thing.” Kirst said. “On the Straker Foundation website, there’s a grant application tab and all of the information is there. We do only accept online applications.” Kirst said.
