Muskingum County K-9 Adoption Center Dog of the Week; Meet Trapper!

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – This week’s Dog of the Week doesn’t know a stranger and is ready for a new home.

Meet Trapper! This keeper is a beagle mix, around two or three years old and will soon be neutered. K-9 adoption volunteer Doug McQuaid tells us a little more about the kind of dog you can expect if you bring Trapper home.

“So we found out a lot of great things about Trapper. Does great with dogs, seems to do well with all people, keeps a cleaner kennel, which is always beneficial to an adopter,” McQuaid said. “Walks well on a leash, seems to love affection. I’m sure kids would just love to romp all over him and pet him. Seems like that’s what he likes a lot. Seems to go up to everybody so he don’t meet a stranger.”

The Muskingum County K-9 Adoption Center is teaming up with Gone to the Dogs for a special fundraising event. McQuaid tells us about the event, which will take place this Friday from 5-8 p.m.

“We have having a microchipping event for cats and dogs. Cats must be in a carrier, dogs must be on a leash. It is $20. This fundraiser actually is for one of our volunteers, Laurie Grandstaff,” McQuaid said.

Grandstaff is the owner of Baxter’s Barnyard and is currently fighting a case of acute respiratory distress syndrome. Gone to the Dogs is also offering nail trims for dogs and cats for additional donations to the fundraiser.
