Lady Muskies drop second straight to start season

NEW CONCORD, Ohio — The Muskingum lady’s hoops team surrendered a 10-point halftime lead, falling to Oberlin on Saturday afternoon by a final of 61-57.
The Lady Muskies lead by as many as 14 points in the first half, after going on an 11-0 run that put them ahead 25-11. They held a halftime advantage of 34-24 before the Yeowomen stormed back in the second half, thanks to a 23-point third quarter, to send Muskingum to their second straight loss to start the season.
The Lady Muskies, who were lead in scoring by Olivia Besancon with 15 points, lost to Kenyon College in their season opener on Wednesday. In addition to her scoring output, Besancon tied Alexandra Carson for the team lead with eight rebounds. Carson filled the box score all afternoon, adding 11 points, five rebounds, and four steals.
The Lady Muskies, who start the season with four consecutive home games, host Manchester at 3 p.m. on Wednesday afternoon.
