Cambridge Area Chamber of Commerce Celebrates Local Women at Annual Witch’s BREW

CAMBRIDGE, OH- Witch hats, costumes and plenty of Halloween spirit filled the Pritchard Laughlin Civic Center Thursday evening as the Cambridge Area Chamber of Commerce hosted its annual Witch’s BREW, recognizing women making a difference throughout Guernsey County.
This year’s theme, “Hidden Treasures,” highlighted the contributions of local women and the important roles they play in the community.
Jennifer Vincent, president of the Cambridge Area Chamber of Commerce, said the event began in 2017 as a way to celebrate women during October, which recognizes women in business.
“BREW actually stands for Boldly Recognizing Exceptional Women,” Vincent said.
The celebration also highlighted the many responsibilities women balance as business owners and community leaders.
“To recognize women-owned businesses is really important because they don’t just wear one hat. They wear many,” an event speaker said.
Beyond recognizing local women, Witch’s BREW also helped support the next generation through college scholarships.
A silent auction, along with contributions from generous donors, helped fund four $750 college scholarships awarded during the event.
Vincent also emphasized the importance of community involvement, noting that men joined the celebration to help recognize the accomplishments of women throughout Guernsey County.
The annual event combined Halloween fun, community recognition and charitable giving, reminding attendees that making a difference doesn’t require a magic wand.
Witch’s BREW is expected to return next year, giving the community another opportunity to celebrate the women who help make Guernsey County a special place.
