ZANESVILLE, Ohio — The Blue Devils got off to a slow start but used a strong third quarter quarter to take down Dover 49-38 in their regular season home opener on Tuesday night.

Zanesville is now 2-0 on the young season after opening with a road win against New Philadelphia last Friday.

The Blue Devil’s defense was in tune all night, holding the Tornadoes to just six points in the first quarter, but they still held only a five-point lead at the end of the first eight minutes. Zanesville would double that advantage though before halftime, taking a 24-14 lead into the locker room.

Aronde Myers and Cameron Brooks-Harris lead the Blue Devils on the night. Myers had a game-high 21 points along with five rebounds, while Brooks-Harris chipped in a double-double, tallying 17 points and 13 rebounds.

Zanesville again held Dover to just six points in the third quarter, en route to building a 17-point advantage through three quarters.

The Blue Devils will now travel to Coshocton on Friday to take on the Redskins. Tip-off is at 7:30 p.m.
