Muskingum drops opening OAC tournament game

WESTERVILLE, Ohio – The Muskingum softball team dropped their first game in the Ohio Athletic Conference tournament Friday . Luckily for them it’s a double elimination tournament.

The Muskies traveled to Westerville to take on tournament host Otterbein. The Cards had a big fifth inning, scoring five runs, to eventually take the game 8-1. Muskingum’s lone run came in the fourth when Alexia Dowdle singled in Jolyn Shunk.

Former Sheridan General Gabby Johnson picked up the win for Otterbein. She threw a complete game and struck out seven.

Muskingum was scheduled to play their second game of the tournament after the first game. However, due to weather it has been postponed to Saturday. They’ll play Heidelberg at 10 a.m.
