Ohio Girl Scout Cookies Not Affected
Many of us are buying box after box of Girl Scout cookies to get our fix for the year, but the organization wants people to be aware of a few complaints it has received. A few customers in Indiana complained that the Lemon Chalet Cremes had a strange taste and odor.
Little Brownie Bakers, where the Girl Scout cookies are made, was notified and found that oils may have been breaking down the cookies.
"The bakery has assured us that we didn’t receive any here in Ohio’s Heartland Council," says regional director, Kendra O-Reilly.
The batch of cookies that had the oils in them was destroyed, and a product replacement was called for, not a recall. O’Reilly says if you do notice a difference in the cookies, you should let the organization know about it.
"They can either contact us here at the Zanesville Service Center if they’re here locally or they can return them to the girl they purchased them from. The girl can return them to us and we can do a product exchange for them, " says O-Reilly.
Girl Scout cookies will be available at the Zanesville Service Center through the end of March.
