ZANESVILLE, Ohio – Democratic candidate for Lieutenant Governor, Betty Sutton was in Zanesville Tuesday, October 9th to talk about the upcoming election.

Speaking in front of the steps of the Muskingum County Court House and accompanied by Amber Daniels who is running for Ohio House District 78. Sutton spoke of her Democratic partner Richard Cordray and the differences between them and their opponents, Republicans Mike DeWine and Jon Husted.

“I’m here to talk about what is the defining issue in this gubernatorial campaign and it’s protecting healthcare for Ohioans,” Sutton said. “It’s about helping Ohioans with pre-existing conditions. Rich Cordray has supported protections for Ohioans with pre-existing conditions.”

These pre-existing conditions include cancer, asthma, and diabetes. Early voting starts Wednesday, October 10th and she wants to remind members of the community to register to vote.

“It is so important that everybody, everybody go out and vote,” Sutton said. “Our election here in Ohio becomes all the more important with what is going on in Washington. We need leaders who will protect people’s healthcare.”

Sutton said that Ohioans need someone they can trust and that will create more pathways for everyone. Today is the last day to register to vote and you can do that or check to see if you already have online.
