ZANESVILLE, Ohio – Tuesday, October 9th at the Zanesville Country Club was a ceremony hosted for the individuals who helped save Jim Crowley’s life.

There were 10 people that received recognition for the part they played at the Zanesville’s Half Marathon in September, when Crowley suffered from a heart attack. Danette Warner who was a runner remembers that day as starting off beautiful, she finished her race and was walking to her car when she heard someone yell for a medic.

“I’m a Pharmacist and with my job we have to be certified in CPR and it’s something that every two years I go and get re-certified for and you never think that you’re going to do it on a actual person,” Warner said,

She said her instincts kicked in and she checked his pulse and immediately started doing chest compression’s. From there help came from every direction. Jim Crowley is healthy today due to the help from Interim Fire Chief Doug Hobson and first responders.

“We’re just thankful we have great people that are involved in the emergency sector of our community like Doug and Value Care. Great responders,” Crowley said.

This was Crowley’s 15th marathon he’s ran over the years. He has made a full recovery since his heart attack and plans to be running marathons again by next year.
