Troopers help Parents with Car Seats
Zanesville State Troopers are helping parents keep their kids safe by hosting a safety seat inspection event.
There are dozens of different types of car seats but is your car seat strapped in correctly? That is what the Highway Patrol and the Carr Center want parents to find out Saturday Dec. 5th at the Washington Township Firehouse.
"We are going to do is inspect child seats to make sure they are installed properly answer any questions parents have."
Lt. Chad Neil says they want to reduce the number of children or infants getting hurt in traffic accidents because their child seat wasn’t in the car properly.
"I wanna make sure parents are aware of the safety issues and concerns facing the issues with child safety seats."
Lt. Neil says about eight of ten cars they inspect have the child seat put in wrong.
He says it’s easy to put them in wrong you have to think about things; like airbags, where the seat is supposed to be placed, and even which direction it should face. They just want to make the public aware and make sure everyone’s seat is put in correctly.
The inspection is free and is Saturday from 9AM to 1PM at the Washington Township Firehouse.
