Mom of one-month-old child indicted

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – The Muskingum County Prosecuter’s Office announced Tuesday, October 16th that a local mother has been indicted in connection with the death of her infant son.

According to prosecutor Mike Haddox, 27-year-old Samantha R. Donohoe is facing charges after an incident on September 4th at Eagle View Apartments where officers were called in regards to an unresponsive one-month-old child.

Haddox said it was concluded that the baby died from hyperthermia after being left in a hot car, “They indicted miss Donohoe on four counts. The first count being felonious assault a felony of second degree. The second count being murder. The third count being endangering children a felony of third degree and the fourth count being involuntary manslaughter a felony of first degree.”

Haddox said no further charges will be filed against Donohoe. He said the father of the baby was asleep at the time of the incident and will not be charged.

“It’s my understanding from talking to Sheriff Lutz, that Miss Donohoe was arrested, I believe last Friday evening and is currently in the Muskingum County Jail,” Haddox said.

Haddox said Donohoe is facing a prison sentence of 15 years to life if convicted on all charges. Donohoe is scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday, October 17th.
