NEW LEXINGTON, Ohio — Cancer awareness was put in the spotlight in New Lexington as the Perry County Cancer Alliance hosted their annual candlelight vigil in front of the New Lexington Fire Department and adjacent to City Hall on Thursday, October 15.

Brandy & Tommy Hettick engaged the attendees in song, and cancer stories were shared by Caleb Spencer, Julie Stalling, and Tracy’s Army.

Spencer, with Snider-Flautt Lumber, presented the group with a $10,000 check in memory of his father.  The New Lexington Fire Department raised $3,000 in house to support PCCA efforts.  According to a social media post by the Kat Dodson Foundation, the nonprofit presented a $113,149 check to help the cancer patients in Perry County.

The Perry County Cancer Alliance supports cancer patients throughout Perry County.
