ZANESVILLE, Ohio – The Muskingum County Commissioners had a bid opening today for the Juvenile Detention Center re-roof project.

The commissioners received 6 different companies who put in bids for the project. APG Architect Jeremy Davis said all of the bids are being considered.

“They’ve been experiencing some roof leaks. They basically received a large sum grant from the State and federal government agencies and what the grant doesn’t cover the county is going to match,” Davis said.

There were multiple representatives for the different companies in attendance of the bid opening meeting. The re-roofing project is a 50,000 square foot building.

“To where we’re basically leaving down the existing roof, putting an overlay one over top of it to remedy the roof leak issues,” Davis said.

There is hope that they will make a decision in about a week, once they have evaluated each of the companies that put in a bid.
