Drug-Free Club Initiative

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – Superintendent of Mid-East Career and Technology Centers spoke at the Zanesville Noon Rotary Club meeting on Tuesday, March 5th.
Dr. Richard Hall announced the schools new Drug-Free Club initiative. He said the club is completely voluntary but will help a lot of students.
“We feel like it’s a part of the educational process. As a part of their life, they’re going to go through drug testing and we feel like we can show them what that’s like. Create a club concept for them, along with that offer some incentives and also give them a competitive advantage in the workforce, which is what we’re all about,” Dr. Hall said.
Mid-East Career and Technology Centers want to be a big piece to their students for career development. Dr. Hall says the students will be drug tested throughout their careers all of their life so this club is to help prepare them.
“We’re looking for everything we can do to eliminate barriers, to give them a competitive advantage in the workforce. So we just feel like this is a great thing that we can do for our students at Mid-East,” Dr. Hall said.
The club is still in the beginning stages but will be available to students next school year. If you are interested in learning more about it, you can call Mid-East Career and Technology Center at (740) 454-0105 and contact Dr. Hall at EXT. 6317.
