Beckett House hosts First Responders Appreciation Breakfast

NEW CONCORD, Ohio – From law enforcement to firefighters and EMTs, our first responders answer many calls when it matters most. The Beckett House Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in New Concord, Ohio, hosted its first-ever First Responders Appreciation Breakfast on Friday morning.

Local first responders were invited to an appreciation breakfast bar fully loaded with crispy bacon, potatoes, donuts, and biscuits and gravy. Muskingum County Sheriff Chief Deputy Jeff says that he attends events like this for more than just a free meal.

“We appreciate things like this. It’s a great opportunity for us to be out in the community, network with folks. It just shows their appreciation that they have towards us and we want to show that appreciation back. You know we appreciate what they do and to show the support for all the first responders they show and its just events like this are good, positive events for us,” Lecocq said.

Layna Kinder is the social service designee and discharge planner at the Beckett House, and she told us what it feels like to work for an organization willing to host a first-responder appreciation breakfast.

“It’s wonderful. We do a lot of community stuff, not only for our first responders but for our family members and just our community in general. It feels good to work for a company that is willing to give back to show what we do here and our appreciation for our family members and other people in our community,” Kinder said.

Kinder went on to say that she appreciates the local first responders for their responsiveness and kindness during their calls to the Beckett House.
