MCBI Unveils New Kitchen
The Muskingum County Business Incubator cut the ribbon to their beautiful new kitchen Friday afternoon.
The new culinary area is called Foodworks Alliance, and a celebratory lunch prepared in the space was held to kick things off. The new kitchen features all the necessary appliances and tools to help create delicious dishes.
“Because it does take such a long process and I’ve had individuals be asking me for three or four years, ‘when is it going to be open?’ It is nice to finally be able to walk into the door and say, ‘we have it. We are ready and we can start producing in there and start helping you grow your business.'”
According to the business model addressed on the MCBI website, individuals have the ‘opportunity to have long or short-term professional kitchen leases at reasonable rates and on a flexible time-share basis.’ Humphreys says it took a lot of research, planning and funding to help get the kitchen up and running and she believes the community will enjoy the new edition to the MCBI.
“They’re very interested in the idea of us having products that are produced here that they can purchase and we of course are part of the farmers market. We’ll be working with a number of other associations here so we can all together, make this food movement work better.”
Humphreys says they are thrilled with the opening of the new space, and it will allow them to focus on the agricultural side of business.
