Muskingum County Library System Brings Reading Fun to Families
ZANESVILLE, OH – Literacy and reading comprehension are some of the most important skills you can learn and the Muskingum County Library System has just the thing to help those little readers in your life.
This week between the John McIntire Library and Branch Library Locations, you’ll have 5 chances to take part in Story times!
Sean Fennell, the Marketing and Community Relations Director with MCLS, says they have story times for babies, toddlers, preschool, as well as ones for the whole family.
“What’s nice about having the toddler, baby, and preschool story times is that you have more specific, age appropriate books, crafts, and learning activities but then, which this is really incredible, is that our Branches also have story times, but those are generally called “Family Storytimes” and those are for a much wider age group so they’re a little bit more general but it’s really fun for the entire family too.” Fennell said.
Fennel says if you miss any of the ones happening at the Library, there are 3 more chances this weekend.
He says the Library is eagerly preparing for their Annual Reading Festival happening this Saturday from 10AM until 1PM at the Colony Square Mall.
“We will also have themed books, with the characters appearing as well so you have Bluey, get a photo op with Bluey, Bard the Bunny will be there as well as Hoobert.” Fennel said. “We’ll have another guest out there as well, so you know, definitely show up, have a good time. It is so much fun, we have I think around 70 vendors and authors showing up. There’s children’s authors, young adult authors, adult authors, there really is something for everyone.”

Wednesday, September 23rd: 10:30AM Baby Story time at the John McIntire Library
Thursday September 24th: 10:30AM Family Story time at the New Concord Branch
Thursday September 24th: 10:30AM Preschool Story time at the John McIntire Library
Thursday September 24th: 10:30AM Friendly Frights Story time with Local Author Teri Lott at the Roseville Branch, this is open to all ages.
