‘Sheep is where it’s at’ at the Muskingum County Fair
ZANESVILLE, Ohio – Day four of the Muskingum County Fair is underway, so let’s check in with some of the sheep showmen who competed on Tuesday.
Dalton Stewart has been in 4-H for 13 years and this is his 10th year bringing sheep to the fairgrounds. While he may not have placed as high as he was hoping for, he still enjoyed his time in the ring doing something he loves.
“Been around livestock a long time. Just want to try something new. Always had cattle for the longest time so just trying to get, trying out something different. Kinda liked it so just stuck with it,” said Stewart, a member of the Valley View 4-H club.
Briar Wilson has been in 4-H for eight years and comes from a long line of farmers. He had a little more luck at the market sheep show and gets to spend the rest of the week enjoying the fair with his friends and caring for his favorite animal.
“I did pretty well. I did 4th overall market lamb and my breeding sheep did alright, I guess,” said Wilson, a member of the Flying R 4-H Club. “I’ve showed goats and I’ve showed chickens but sheep is where it’s at.”
The Muskingum County Fair continues tomorrow with gates opening at 9 a.m. You can see the results of the Junior Fair Shows that have taken place by visiting the Muskingum County Fair’s Website.
