CROOKSVILLE, Ohio – During the 20th Century, Hull Pottery employed a community who created practical, everyday household goods, which embodied an artsy charm that collectors appreciate to this day.

Today, hundreds of Hull Pottery collectors from across the country converged at the Crooksville High School to share their love of the keepsakes as well as their appreciation of the community from which they were crafted.

“We come to Crooksville because, that’s where the Hull Pottery was made. The high school was kind enough to let us in and share their facility for two days. So we like to come to this area to kind of celebrate the heritage of the Hull Pottery and the heritage of the region,” Hull Pottery Association Vice President Randy Butchart said.

Items that were once purchased for their usability and durability have aged into nostalgic reminders of a simpler time as they make for reverent decorations in today’s homes.

“Well, it’s beautiful. And there is such a diverse opportunity for collecting, with the dinnerware lines, artware lines, the novelty, the floral ware. There’s truly something for every collector to find your passion and collect Hull Pottery,” Butchart said.

The reasons to collect Hull Pottery are numerous and the passion that the collectors share is strong enough for them to make the trip to Crooksville to bond with friends and honor the surviving employees with a celebratory lunch.

The Hull Pottery Convention will continue from 10 to 2 Saturday, at the Crooksville High School. Admission is free.
