The Renner Theatre Presents: “Alice in Wonderland”

ZANESVILLE, OH – The Renner Theatre’s production of “Alice in Wonderland” kicked off on Thursday, Aug. 7th, but don’t worry, you still have plenty of chances to catch a show.
James Every, who will be portraying the Mad Hatter, described his character and what he did to bring the character to life on the stage.
“The Madder Hatter is so different in every variation of him and I think we did our own and it’s awesome.” Every said. “He’s a really funky character and it’s so cool to play him, just because when I first got told I was going to be the Mad Hatter, I didn’t know how I was going to do it, I think everyone pulled it off.”
Every says working with the cast has been amazing and they all act off each other’s energy, making for a highly entertaining show.
Nico Griepenstroh, who will be portraying the March Hare, says their favorite scene is the Tea Party and described some of the antics you’ll see on stage.
“It’s so weird, we have these chairs that we pick up and move around throughout the Tea Party.” Griepenstroh said. “When we do that, sure they’re heavy, but it looks really cool! I think that’s so cool because the lighting bounces off the chairs and there are ribbons on the chairs. There are a whole bunch of different people in the Tea Party specifically and they all are doing something.”
Tickets are still available for “Alice in Wonderland” but they are limited.
