As New Year's Eve approaches drivers are reminded to be safe on the road and use good judgment before getting behind the wheel.

Holiday shopping kicks off this weekend and the AAA Auto Club wants consumers to take steps to guard themselves against theft.

Thanksgiving is just about a week away, and that means travelers will be hitting the roadway. The AAA Auto Club anticipates 1.5 million Ohioans will be traveling next Wednesday and Thursday, a 0.2% increase from last year. The AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety released a new study showing teens are more likely to engage in risky behavior behind the wheel.

The Muskingum County Center for Seniors is partnering with local and state agencies to keep the elderly safe on the road.

More Americans are expected to be traveling during the Labor Day weekend.

AAA Ohio is reporting that supply concerns resulting from a series of problems at regional refineries have caused the most recent spike in gasoline prices.

Tuesday, the average price of regular gas was $3.59 a gallon; five cents higher than the day's national average.

AAA Spokeswoman Kimberly Schwind said refineries in Illinois and Indiana as well as two pipelines to Ohio created concerns over supply which drove gas prices up over 20 cents yesterday.
