For the first time since before Prohibition, alcohol will soon be sold in New Concord.
On Tuesday, voters gave the Riesbeck's on Main Street the right to sell beer, wine and mixed beverages Monday through Saturday. WHIZ caught up with customers outside the food market to find out how they feel about the change. Don Shepherd has lived in New Concord for most of his life, and he said alcohol sales will benefit the community.
The Zanesville Post says alcohol is a factor in a Saturday evening accident that sent one woman to the hospital.
Trooper Williams says around 5 p.m., 21-year-old Joshua Pyle of Chandlersville, was traveling in the 1,900 block of Zane Grey Road, when he went off the right side of the road and struck a tree. His passenger, 22-year-Courtney McGraw of Zanesville, was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

The Zanesville Police Department says alcohol may be a contributing factor in a single car accident that sent the driver to the hospital.
It happened around 7:30 p.m. near the intersection of Moxahala Avenue and Elmore Street.
Sergeant Chris Phipps says the driver of the red Ford was traveling north in the 1000-block of Moxahala Avenue when he ran into the back of a green SUV that was parked. The vehicle eventually came to a stop on the sidewalk.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol says 24-year-old Mathew Hollis of Pickerington had just gotten onto the entrance ramp from Reed Road when he lost control of the vehicle. Troopers say Hollis overcorrected, the pick-up truck slide sideways onto US 30, overturned, and came to rest on its top in the median.
Two Barnesville teens are dead, following an accident in Guernsey County late last night.

Crews were initially called to 1614 Crystal Court, Apartment F, and found 40-year-old Christopher Harvey on the floor of the garage with one gunshot wound to his head. He was taken by Medflight to the hospital for treatment.
