Three area counties rank in the top ten for spring wild turkey harvests.

The Ohio Department of Natural Resources says Ohio hunters checked in over 16,000 wild turkeys during the wild turkey hunting season and youth hunting season that ran from mid-April to May 19.

The numbers are down slightly from 2013 when over 18,000 turkey's were harvested.

In our area Coshocton County came in third in the state with 480 birds taken in. Guernsey County was fourth with 466 birds and...

For Coshocton county....

The issue for Joint Vocational School District 1mills for General Improvement won by a close 11 votes.

The Jefferson Township issue for 1.5 mills to put toward road improvements won 122 to 79 votes.

The Coshocton Street Levy for 2.4 mills for construction to repait streets, roads and bridges won 58% to 42%.

The West Lafayette issue for 4 mills towards general operating expenses for the police department lost...

This weekend's rain has caused flooding issues in Coshocton County. The Coshocton County Sheriff's Office reported Monday that there is high water in several areas and closed roadways.

The following roads are affected:

  • SR 715 in both directions at the Mohawk Dam between the dam and the Knox County line
  • CR 4 west of SR 60
  • Twp Road 437
  • CR 6 near SR 16

What was supposed to be a fun filled hunting trip turned turned into a nightmare for one man when he got lost in the woods.

Timothy Miller and his brother- in- law, Scott decided to take the two and half hour drive from Cleveland to Coshocton to hunt deer on Sunday evening, when Scott became tired, Miller decided to stay in the woods and hunt a little bit longer. The Coshocton County Sheriff's Office resumes its search Monday for a missing hunter.The sheriff's office said that two men were hunting Sunday, when one of the men decided to leave the woods as it was getting dark. The other stayed behind to hunt longer, that man ended up getting lost in the woods.

An OVI checkpoint will take place in Coshocton County this evening...

The Ohio State Highway Patrol and the Coshocton County Sheriff's Department will perform the checkpoint from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. this evening on Seventh Street in the City of Coshocton.

Authorities say a man has died after falling from an oil rig in Coshocton County.
 

It happened just after midnight Thursday  on County Road 5.
 

Sheriff Tim Rogers says 27-year-old John Roberts of Caldwell was on a 50 foot high platform when he slipped and fell.
 

Roberts was pronounced dead at the scene by Coshocton County Coroner Dr. Robert Gwinn.

On Friday night around 9 p.m. the Coshocton County Sheriff's office received a call in reference to a motorcycle accident with injuries on Linton Twp Rd. 121.

Timothy Yoder, 46 of Tuscarawas County was driving south bound on TR 121 when he says he swerved to avoid an oncoming vehicle. The Coshocton County Sheriff's Office responded to a 911 call about a fight at 1031 Cassingham Ave. at 11:23 p.m. Friday night.

According to Coshocton County Sheriff's Office, officers entered the victims residence and noticed it  was forcibly entered by two suspects. Officers found several people suffering from multiple injuries including knife wounds inside the residence.

Two victims and two suspects were transported to the Coshocton County Memorial Hospital...
