With the weather finally beginning to warm up, the State Highway Patrol is urging drivers to watch out for motorcyclists on county roads.

Lt. Matt Boyd says last year in Muskingum County there were 42 motorcycle crashes and of that number five were fatalities. He says some of these accidents can be prevented by looking out for riders.

At approximately 3 a.m. on Sunday morning the Lancaster Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol investigated a single vehicle crash that occurred on US-22 just west of Amanda Northern Road, in Fairfield County.

On Friday night around 9 p.m. the Coshocton County Sheriff's office received a call in reference to a motorcycle accident with injuries on Linton Twp Rd. 121.

Timothy Yoder, 46 of Tuscarawas County was driving south bound on TR 121 when he says he swerved to avoid an oncoming vehicle. According to the Newark Division of Police, Newark police and fire responded to a crash on the SR 79 northbound ramp at 9:11 p.m. Friday evening.

Captain Craig Riley said in a statement that Richard Mitchell, 56, of Newark was driving northbound on SR 79 attempting to exit SR 16 westbound when Mitchell lost control of his Kawasaki motorcycle and crashed into a guardrail and lamppost.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a one vehicle crash that happened Saturday night in Salt Lick Township.

A man was taken by Med Flight to a Columbus hospital following a motorcycle crash Wednesday night in Harrison Township.

The accident occurred just after 8 p.m. in the 7200-block of Old River Road.

According to State Highway Patrol Trooper Adam McKenzie, 60-year-old Roger Bobo was traveling northbound on Old River when he went off the right side of the road, over an embankment and was ejected from the motorcycle.

A man is cited after hitting the back-end of another vehicle earlier today.

Trooper Patrick Townsend of the Lancaster Post of the State Highway Patrol says it happened around 2 p.m. on Thursday. Granville Post State Troopers say a 52-year-old Newark man, who died in an overnight motorcycle crash Saturday, was not wearing a helmet.

It happened just after midnight in Madison Township.

Troopers says Michael Annarino was traveling north on State Route 79 when his motorcycle went of the right side of the road and overturned. Annarino was thrown from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene.
