The summer construction season is in full swing for the Muskingum County Engineer's Office. As they wrap up projects others are just beginning.
Since March the Moxadarla Bridge has been closed to traffic as crews work to repair floor beams on the bridge and pour a concrete decking. The steel removed from the structure will be reused for other projects.

The Muskingum County Engineer's Office took part in Wednesday's Transportation Improvement District Meeting. They said the trusses and beams are in place on the Moxadarla bridge and crews are now in the process of putting in forms so the decking can be poured.
The Engineer's office said the project estimated to cost $550,000 should be complete within the next month. The project is being funded through federal dollars and the TIDs Appalachian money.

The Muskingum County Commissioners received one bid for the Moxadarla Road bridge project.
The bridge is used by local residents and the Maysville School District. Matt Russell from the County Engineers office says the floor beams need to be replaced. They will most likely use U.S. Bridge Company out of Cambridge who submitted a bid just under $550,000.
"It is a truss bridge that we are going to replace just the super structure of it," said Russell.

The Muskingum County Engineer's office is announcing a road closure for this week.
The Moxadarla Road Bridge near the intersection of Darlington Drive will be closed Wednesday and Thursday from 8a.m. to 4p.m.
The waterline connected to the bridge will be removed during the closure due to work that will be completed in the upcoming months.

Several projects around Muskingum County meet approval and will begin to take shape.
Friday the Transportation Improvement Board voted to help fund two bridge projects. The 1929 Trinway Bridge between Dresden and Trinway will be the first replaced. The T.I.D. Board will give $200,000 to the project. More than 3,200 cars cross the bridge daily.
