The Muskingum County Port Authority is working on ways to generate revenue.
Executive Director Mike Jacoby said their biggest issue has been the downturn in the commercial real estate market. He said they had a good year in 2007 because they sold a lot of land, but they haven't seen much activity since.

With a shrinking budget, Muskingum County Commissioners are continuing to find ways to not only save money, but make some too.
Commissioners Jim Porter and Jerry Lavy had their monthly investment committee meeting on Monday. They met with a representative from Community Bank to discuss the county's account balances.

The local post office may be seeing some changes.
The U.S. Postal Service recently reported its 2010 financial results showing a net loss of $8.5 billion for the fiscal year that ended on September 30th. The government agency is attempting to find ways to keep costs down without raising rates.
