Despite afternoon and evening storms, The Stars and Stripes on the River festivities continued on as promised.

The annual Stars and Stripes on the River is this Wednesday and Thursday at Zane Landing Park to celebrate America with food, entertainment, rides and games.

Hosted by the Zanesville Jaycee's, festivities begin on the third with Les Richardson, a family friendly Nashville performer. Richardson is the main event from 6 to 10 pm. on Wednesday and the party continues on Independence Day.

It's day two of "Stars and Stripes on the River" and many people are enjoying the music.

The band Marcum took the stage Wednesday afternoon at Zane's Landing Park.

Band members Hunter Lepi, Parker Alfman and Nick Emmert have been playing as a band for two years now.

They say their sound is not something often found in today's music scene.

Despite many places cancelling their Fourth of July festivities, Zanesville Jaycees will still host their "Stars and Stripes On the River".

Things kicked off tonight at Zane's Landing Park at six o'clock with a band, rides and food.

A lemonade stand aimed to raise money for a good cause became sour when competition moved in.

Christ's Table sold lemonade this weekend at the Stars and Stripes on the River event in Downtown Zanesville. The non profit organization worked to raise money for the hungry and homeless. They were scheduled to be the only lemonade stand at the event ....when two other lemonade stands set-up shop looking to profit.

The annual Stars and Stripes on the River event at Zane's Landing Park was at an all time high this afternoon.

Families stretching from Zanesville to Newark came out to enjoy the day. Newark Resident, Ryan Armstrong began coming to the event when he was about 12 years-old, and continues to come each year with his three brothers and step-dad. He said, it's a chance to spend time together.

The Fourth of July weekend officially kicked off in Zanesville today.

The annual Starts and Stripes on the River event began setting up Sunday afternoon and came to life that evening. The day has been sponsored by the Zanesville Jaycees for about fifteen years and brings out about a thousand people to Zane's Landing Park each year. Jaycee President, Shawn Antritt said, today's band, carnival rides, and vendors are only the beginning of their weekend plans.

The Zanesville Memorial Concert Band will change locations for the 4th of July holiday weekend....

The concert band typically plays at Zanes Landing Park each week but will perform at Secrest Auditorium Sunday, July 3rd due to scheduling of the annual Stars and Stripes on the River event. Secrest Auditorium Manager, John Kunkel said he is excited to have them and says it should be a great show.

The 4th of July is just around the corner and it's time to make your holiday plans.

The annual Stars and Stripes on the River event will be held at Zane Landing Park. Festivities will kick off at 3:00PM on Sunday. There is also an evening concert and carnival rides. Plenty of non profit organizations and food vendors will take part.
