The Cambridge Post of State Highway Patrol is on the scene of an accident Friday morning.

A dispatcher said not many details are being released at this time but the accident occurred 15 miles east of Cambridge on US 22 just before 3:30 when a semi rolled over.

Community Ambulance, Newton Township and the South Zanesville Fire Department responded to the scene of an accident just after 10 a.m. on Friday. According to Trooper Samuel Hendricks of the Ohio State Highway Patrol, a Zanesville woman was pulling out of a hair salon when she failed to stop and struck a car on Maysville Pike.

A two vehicle accident near East Fultonham sent one person to the hospital .

The accident happened around 3:30 p.m. Friday near the intersection of U.S. 22 and State Route 345.
 

According to Steve Blake with the Muskingum County Sheriff's Office, a Chevy Trailblazer was on  22 attempting to turn onto State Route 345 when it was rear-ended by a dump truck.

The Newton Township Fire Department responds to fire late Tuesday.

Lieutenant Josh Bryan said that a structure fire on US Route 22 around 11:30p.m.

Crews from Glenford and Somerset were called in to assist. The fire was contained in about 45 minutes and no one was hurt during the event.

The Zanesville Post of the State Highway Patrol is investigating a small oil leak that left portions of several roads in Muskingum County quite slippery.

It happened around 12:30 Friday afternoon just north of State Route 93 and the Eastpointe Drive intersection.

Troopers say two separate trucks from two different companies both had hydraulic leaks coming from them which leaked all the way to I-70 and parts of US 22 eastbound.

Two remain in the hospital after a late night accident.

According to the State Highway Patrol it happened shortly before 11 o'clock Friday night on US 22 in Newton Township. 33-year-old Kimberly Rota of Zanesville was traveling westbound when she went left of center striking oncoming 53-year-old Kenneth Barney of Zanesville.

A Zanesville man is seriously hurt after a one-vehicle crash in Newton Township on Thursday.

The accident happened around 3 p.m. at U.S. Route 22 and State Route 345.

Trooper Stephen Williams with the Zanesville Post of the State Highway Patrol said that 26-year-old Jeffrey Dunwoody was traveling east on U.S. 22 near S.R. 345, when he veered off the right side of the roadway, overcorrected, and went down a steep embankment.

The State Highway Patrol said alcohol appears to be a factor in a crash that leaves one person dead Wednesday evening.

Troopers with the Lancaster Post of the State Highway Patrol said that just after 5pm 34-year-old Phillip Oliver, of Columbus, was traveling west on US 22 enar Avalon Road when he lost control on his 1992 Honda Accord, traveled off the right side of the roadway and struck a utility pole.

The Ohio Department of Transportation said a Fairfield County Roadway will be closed until August.

District 5 Deputy Director Karl Newman said they have closed County Road 72 at the 3.44 mile marker from July 26 to August 13th, weather permitting.

The work will improve sight distance between County Road 72 and US 22. It's part of the asphalt upgrade to US 22 from east of Lancaster to the Perry County line.

Three people are injured after a crash this morning near Somerset.

It happened east of the town on US 22 at about 7:20 this morning. 39-year old James Shahan and 39 -year old Dawn Shahan were driving eastbound on US 22, when the car went left of center and struck 32-year old Timothy Carder head-on.

James, the driver, was ejected from the vehicle.

All three were taken to Good Samaritan Hospital in Zanesville.
