The Winerak is celebrating its 35th anniversary by having a customer appreciation day.

The holidays are here and alcohol sales are seeing a spike.

Beverage Manager Chad Lynn at the Winerak in Zanesville said the week before and after Christmas are their busiest times of the year.

"Because of people coming home and coming in and buying things for parties and what not, these two week are definitely a huge increase in sales as far as customer flow coming through the store even," said Lynn.

Zanesville Police are asking for the public's help in connection with a theft at the Winerak.

Detective Sgt. Ric Roush says they are hoping someone recognizes the suspect in this surveillance photo.

He says on November 4th at around 4:30 p.m. a woman with blonde hair, wearing dark sunglasses and a dark blue coat walked into the Winerak on Maple Avenue.

The woman began taking large items off the store racks and placed them in a grocery cart.

Fourth of July liquor sales may have been the highest in years for one local store.

Winerack owner in Zanesville, Mike Alfman, said he hasn't had a chance to look at the numbers yet, but predicts sales will be the highest he has seen in the past ten to fifteen years. The nice weather could be one factor but Alfman contributes the spike to the holiday falling on a Monday.

A champagne toast at midnight is tradition on New Year's Eve, but if you don't want to break the bank there are several types of bubbly at an affordable price.
