Citizens Gather In Front Of Courthouse To Pray And Discuss Issues

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – As the nation continues to debate the transgender bathroom issue, a group of concerned Zanesville citizen gathered Monday at the Muskingum County Courthouse to pray, and in their words, to discuss the issues most important to America.

One of the citizens downtown was Aaron Wahl. Wahl, like the others gathered on the lawn of the Courthouse, was there to join hands in prayer and to seek guidance. Wahl said they gathered today for religious reasons and to try to to change the way the nation thinks.

“Today marks 50 days after Easter which is known as the day of Pentecost in the Christian faith,” said Wahl. “Today we are just coming to celebrate that day, first and foremost. We’re in a very pivotal moment in our society and we need to have a revival back to the founding faith of our country.”

Of the issues facing the United States that Wahl listed was same-sex marriage and LBGT concerns. However, Wahl said the most important concern in the nation is President Obama’s transgender bathroom bill.

“Our president has sent out a decree in the land to our public school system stating that if they don’t bow basically to his decree in this whole transgender issue that’s going on in American right now that he would pull public funding from our schools. And we are just here today asking God to move in that situation,” said Wahl.

Those who gathered on the courthouse lawn showed up at 6 p.m. and stayed for approximately 30 minutes. Wahl also wanted to state that he and the others downtown were not there to pray against anyone group, but rather to seek guidance.
