Cambridge Woman Charged in Rape of 3-year-old Child

CAMBRIDGE, Ohio–The Guernsey County Sheriff’s Office has filed charges against a 45-year-old Cambridge woman in connection with the rape of a child.

Deputies are currently looking for Melanie Young who is accused of raping a three-year-old toddler.

A co-defendant in the case, Michael Smith, was charged last month and remains in the county jail on $ 2.5 million bond.

Lieutenant Sam Williams said in all 18 felony charges have been filed against Young including attempted rape, illegal use of a minor or impaired person in nudity oriented materials or performance and pandering sexually oriented mattering involving a minor.

Anyone with information on Young’s location is asked to call the Guernsey County Sheriff’s Office.
