ZANESVILLE, OH – The Nelson T. Gant Foundation is serving up something warm and delicious this weekend, all for a good cause.

The foundation will host its annual Chili Fest on Friday, October 23, and Saturday, October 24, at the Gant House in Zanesville.

For $10, guests can enjoy a bowl of chili served with crackers, chips, a cookie and water. Quarts of chili will also be available for $15.

All proceeds will help support the foundation’s efforts in the community.

“It’s really delicious. We’ve been doing it for about 21 years now at the Gant House, and it’s a staple to the community,” said Todd Ware, president of the Nelson T. Gant Foundation. “Everybody loves it, and it’s my grandmother’s recipe, and it’s really great.”

On Friday, October 23, Chili Fest will offer takeout and delivery only from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Delivery is available for orders of five meals or more, while smaller orders must be picked up.

On Saturday, October 24, guests can enjoy dine-in service at the Gant House from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

“My favorite part about the tradition is the community sort of anticipates it coming out, and each year they get to taste the chili and they can grade the chili and see how it is, and they just want to participate,” Ware said.

The Gant House is located at 1845 West Main Street in Zanesville.
