Honoring 50 Years of Service

Williams 1

A long time member of an area fire department is celebrating a half century of being part of the department.

Roy Williams was honored by the Wayne Township Fire Department for his 50 years of service. He started as a volunteer in 1971. During his time at the department he spent 29 years as a Lieutenant, 4 years as an assistant chief and two years as a chief.

His fellow firefighters held a ceremony in his honor over the weekend saying he’s risked his own safety to ensure the safety of fellow citizens and has earned the respect of the Muskingum County Fireman’s Association.

Williams will continue to help out with station fundraisers.
