Genesis Updates Visitation Policy

Genesis HealthCare System is expanding its visitation policy effective March 9, 2022, due to a lower incidence of COVID-19 in the community.
All visitors must continue to wear masks, in keeping with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidelines for healthcare facilities. The following changes are in effect March 9:Patients who are positive for COVID-19 may have one visitor with no restrictions on time of day. Patients with COVID-19 who are at the end of life or in hospice in Genesis Hospital may have unlimited visitation. Visitors must be 18 years or older and will be provided with Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
All other inpatients have no restrictions on the number and age of visitors and hours, unless specified for the circumstance and/or the unit. The Critical Care Unit has specific guidelines that are provided to patients’ visitors.
The Emergency Department (ED) allows two visitors with no restrictions on the hours or age; however, COVID-19 patients in the ED may only have one visitor over the age of 18 with no restrictions on the time of day. Visitors will be provided PPE.
Surgical patients may have two visitors 18 years or older.
Patients on the Labor & Delivery unit may have two visitors. Patients on the Mother & Baby unit may have three visitors.
Other areas may have specific guidelines, such as the Genesis Cancer Care Center, Genesis Behavioral Health and Morrison House (Hospice).
