Over 70,000 Deer Taken during the Week Long Deer Gun Season

Ohio’s weeklong white-tailed deer gun hunting season wrapped up Sunday.

The Ohio Department of Natural Resources said hunter took in 70,118 deer. Last year hunter took in 71,931 deer.

The number one county for the amount of deer harvested this year was Coshocton County with 2,441, Muskingum was fourth in the state with 2,076, Guernsey County came in seventh with 1,798 deer and Licking County in ninth with 1,570.

An additional weekend of deer gun hunting will happen December 16 and 17th.
