Santa arrives at Adornetto’s to bring holiday cheer to local children

ZANESVILLE, OH- For over 50 years the Zanesville Noon Rotary Club has had a long-standing tradition of hosting a Christmas party for children with developmental disabilities in the area.
This year the Rotary Club held their Annual Christmas Party at Adornetto’s Selected Italian Restaurant. The children were able to enjoy a nice pizza lunch, complimented with a large cookie that displayed Santa’s face while waiting for him to make his arrival from the North Pole.
“What we’re having today is the Childrens Christmas Party that Rotary sponsors, and we do this each and every year, and we have about 65 kids here from area schools, and they come and enjoy the music as you can hear, and just Christmas festivities, Santa will be arriving about noon, so we’re really excited about that, and then each child will receive packages from Santa, and they will get to talk with him and they’re having lunch and it’s just a fun filled day to start off the season,” says Julie Metzger, a Rotarian from the Zanesville Noon Rotary Club.
Each child had the opportunity to tell Santa what they wanted for Christmas prior to the party. All of the children were filled with joy and the Christmas spirit as Santa went around and passed out presents to each individual child.
“The best part is seeing the children’s faces light up when they see Santa and when they receive the gifts they’ve asked for, it’s just very heartwarming,” says Metzger.
Thank you to Zanesville Noon Rotary Club for making the lives of 65 children a little merrier this holiday season. They will be hosting their annual Christmas Party again in 2024.
