Neeman Named ZAAP Gallery Artist of the Month
ZANESVILLE, OH – The ZAAP Gallery has named Alisa Neeman as their artist of the month for February.
Irene Barron, another artist from the Zanesville Appalachian Art Project Gallery, said Neeman joined ZAAP in 2021 after about a year of sketching on her own.
Barron said Neeman started out by sketching animals and now has begun to use acrylic and watercolor paints to create pet portraits.
“Alisa is self taught, she started drawing for fun in about 2020,” Barron said. “When she would make mistakes, she would start over and correct them. She just enjoyed making the artwork.”
Neeman is also a Professor of Computer Science at Muskingum University.
Barron said Neeman is excited to be named the ZAAP Gallery’s Artist of the month and detailed what will be going on during the First Friday Art Walk.
“There is always going to be food, food and refreshments,” Barron said. “Members, especially the ones that are featured, bring in a selection of things and others are invited to bring in things also.”
If you’re interested in stopping in at the ZAAP Gallery during the First Friday Art Walk, they are located at 625 Main Street.
