ZANESVILLE, OH- Jon Blake, a retired carpenter from Columbus, Ohio, takes center stage at the Y-Bridge-Arts Festival with his unique artistic vision.

Blake combines his love of the outdoors with folk art, creating whimsical woodland sculptures from recycled materials. He carefully brings out the natural imperfections and character in the wood, giving each piece a distinct charm.

“My motto is ‘Turning Wood Back Into Trees’, about five years ago I just cut some random pine trees out and screwed them on a board and put them on my flower box for a Christmas decoration, and somebody said hey where did you get that and it kind of evolved from there and I just started using more shapes and colors and putting them together and creating art,” said Blake.

Blakes art reflects both environmental consciousness and creative ingenuity. His work helps to capture the beauty of nature while also telling a story which makes him a standout artist this year.

“I sell mantle pieces, coat racks, mirrors, little decorative items, it’s all made from cedar fencing,” said Blake.

Today marked the final day of the Y-Bridge Arts Festival. The festival will return in 2025. To stay up to date with the latest festival information please visit YBridgeArtsFestival.com.
