Dennis Lucas

Dennis R. Lucas, 78, of Dresden passed at 6:56 PM Sunday, November 9, 2025, at his home.
He was born on Saturday, November 16, 1946, in Zanesville, Ohio, the son of the late Dexter L. Lucas and Nellie A. Ray Alexander.
Dennis graduated from Zanesville High School. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving a total of six years. Dennis worked for many years at Ohio Ferro Alloy and as a volunteer at The King’s Place in Reynoldsburg, Ohio. He loved to travel, mow grass, and sketching, which he was very good at. He had a love of sports, especially the Ohio State Buckeye Football team. Dennis coached the Y-city and Adamsville baseball Leagues. He also drove the band bus and volunteered for over ten plus years for the Tri-Valley Marching Scotties.
He is survived by his wife, Emma Groves Lucas; three children, Melissa (Rob) King, Robert Lucas, and Teresa Lucas; four grandchildren, Tiffany King, Krista Elkins, Christian Lucas, and Kaleb Day; five great grandchildren, Lance Elkins, Kierra Mercer, Arianna Elkins, Emma Mercer and James Elkins; a brother, Mike Lucas; half-sister, Tabitha Alexander; half-brother, Roy Alexander; and many nieces and nephews.
Dennis was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 PM on Thursday, November 13, 2025, at the Bryan & Hardwick Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, November 14, 2025, at the Bryan & Hardwick Funeral Home with Pastor Chris Steele officiating. Burial will conclude at Dresden Cemetery.
