George Wilson

Ball

George Archie Wilson, Jr., 64, of McConnelsville, passed away peacefully while in the compassionate care of the The Morrison House. He was born on July 11, 1961, in Maysville, the son of George Archie Wilson, Sr. and Laura Lou Wilson Bateson.

George was a man known for his strong work ethic, kind heart, and unforgettable sense of humor. He never met a stranger and could always bring a smile to those around him, often through his legendary “dad jokes” that family and friends will cherish forever. George took great pride in his work and was deeply dedicated to every job he undertook. His commitment and skill led him across several states, including helping construct a building for Diamond Plastics in Macon, Georgia, a testament to both his talent and determination.

Outside of work, George truly enjoyed life. He loved to travel and treasured the experiences and memories made along the way. He was an avid sports fan who faithfully cheered on Ohio State Buckeyes, Cincinnati Reds, and Cincinnati Bengals. Of all the things he loved most, his beloved dog Archie held a very special place in his heart.

George’s greatest joy came from his family. He is survived by his son, George Archie Wilson III; his daughter, Karleen Wilson-Johnson and her husband, Forrest Johnson, Jr.; his brother, Donald Wilson; and the mother of his children, Tena Davis Wilson. He also leaves behind many extended family members and friends who will miss his laughter, loyalty, and generous spirit.

In addition to his parents, George was preceded in death by his brother, Jerry Wilson; his sister, Wanda Cannon; his aunt, Delores Bateson; his grandmother, Gladys Bateson; and his uncle, Robert Bateson.

George will be remembered as a hardworking man who loved deeply, laughed often, and never failed to brighten the lives of those around him. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
