Perry County Theatre Association Presents “Into the Woods”

NEW LEXINGTON, OH – The Perry County Theatre Association is getting ready for their upcoming production of “Into the Woods”.

“Into the Woods” is a musical production that follows the classic storylines from Brothers Grimm fairytales.

Aiden Nicholson, the publicity coordinator as well as the actor playing Jack, says this won’t be the typical story you’re used to there will be twists, turns, and consequences.

“I think “Into the Woods” is one of those musicals that everyone should see at least once, because a lot of people would consider it a classic and it’s a part of Stephen Sondheim, one of the great musical composers and great musicals writers.” Nicholson said. “I think that “Into the Woods” specifically is a show that a lot of people that are fans of his would consider this their favorite. Like I said, I think it’s a show everybody should see once in their life and even if you have seen “Into the Woods” before, I think the Perry County production is just going to be unique and different than any other production.”

Skyla Willaman, the co-founder, president, and actress playing Cinderella, says getting this show together has been a labor of love.

She says many of the actors are adults with families and other commitments, so getting everyone pinned down for rehearsal has been a challenge.

But they’ve made it work and are ready to hit the New Lexington High School Stage next weekend.

“Everyone’s adults, so getting everyone on the same schedule has been interesting.” Willaman said. “Everyone works, everyone’s got kids, everyone’s doing other things. But when we were finally able to get everyone together, the first time we ran through one of the big numbers, it was magical!”

Tickets for the show are $10 for general admission and can be purchased online, at the door, or through one of the cast members.

VIP tickets are online only and are $20 but it gets you into the theater early for a meet and greet with the cast as well as some photo opportunities.

The doors to the Perry County Theatre Association’s production of “Into the Woods” open at 7PM next Thursday through Saturday.
