Old Blue Rock Rifle Range Holds Deer Sight In

Deer Sight In

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – Deer gun hunting season is coming up on the 26th, and hunters are getting prepared for by attending a deer sight in.

The Old Blue Rock Rifle Range held their deer sight in event on the 24th and 25th. President of Zanesville Rifle Club, Don Pagath, said they open the range to the public to give hunters the opportunity to zero their rifles and make sure they hit the target properly.

“A deer sight in is basically we set targets up from 25 yards all the way out to 200 yards, and you aim the rifle at the target. Or shot gun or pistol. Shoot the target to make sure that you are hitting the target where you want to hit it,” he said.

This is a good way for firearm owners to test their guns and especially their eyesight in preparation for deer hunting season.

“Well it’s important because a lot of people that are traveling, their firearms could be bumped in transit. They need to make sure that they are working properly when they come onto deer season. You know when the big one comes out in front of you, you want to make sure you get it,” he added.

The deer gun seasons run from Monday; Nov. 26th through Sunday, December 2nd, and December 15th through the 16th.
