Westview Community Park funding application

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – The Board of Muskingum Valley Park District Commissioners submitted a Land and Water Conservation Fund grant application seeking federal funding for the development of Westview Community Park.

In late August, an anonymous donor gifted $140,000 toward the full purchase price of the former Westview Elementary School property, located on the corner of Dresden Road and Englewood Avenue.

Because of this generous donation, $31,000.00 donated to the Muskingum Valley Park Society by private citizens and local businesses will be dedicated towards the park’s development.

To maximize these funds, the park district submitted a Land and Water Conservation Fund Grant proposal to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources.

If selected for funding, Westview Community Park will be completed by late December of 2019.  Without grant funding, phased development of the park will commence in the spring of 2019.
