16th Annual ‘Race For Grace’ Registration Now Open

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – For many, Thanksgiving Day is a holiday that was created to leisurely celebrate and share abundance.
Matt Schreiber, Race Director for the 16th annual ‘Race for Grace’ Thanksgiving morning charity event announced the purpose of the event as well as some of its details.
“This year we have the 16th annual Race for Grace being held at Grace Church in downtown Zanesville. Thanksgiving morning at 9 o’clock you’ll have a chance to run the streets of Zanesville and start your Thanksgiving morning out right. The race is put on by the Rotary Club of Zanesville, Grace United Methodist Church and Eastside Community Ministry with the proceeds benefiting Eastside’s food pantry as well as the Rotary’s Healthy Body Healthy Mind, which goes to fight food insecurities here locally,” Schreiber said.
The event will be held at 516 Shinnick Street in Zanesville and is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. but participants are encouraged to arrive early for packet pickup.
The run costs $30 dollars and participants can sign up at muskingummultisports.com. The one-mile walk is free and there is the option to simply donate or purchase a t-shirt.
“Yeah, we encourage everybody to come out for Thanksgiving morning. We do have the 5K run as well as a one-mile walk. So it’s a chance for those cooks to get everyone in the family out of the kitchen, clear out some space for them or for families to come down, just enjoy some time together as they get ready to celebrate the holiday for the things they’re thankful for. As well as providing those benefits for individuals fighting food insecurity. As we know here locally, that is becoming more and more of an issue. We see more and more in need of it and this race does help fight some of that,” Schreiber said.
Race Day registration for the ‘Race for Grace’ event will cost $35 dollars and t-shirt availability cannot be guaranteed.
