Nominations are open for the Women of Achievement Award

ZANESVILLE, Ohio–Nominate outstanding women in health care, education and many more categories for the Women of Achievement Award.
The award honors women in the community who have put in the work to make Muskingum County better. Women of Achievement Committee Member Ruthie Ware says the committee is asking people to be on the lookout for women who deserve recognition for what they do.
“You don’t have to look very far to look around and see women who are doing exceptional things and haven’t been recognized for those,” Ware said. “We’re asking people to look around and nominate women who you think have made an impact on the community.”
Nominations are due before 5 p.m. February 7. The form is electronic and can be found on the Women of Achievement website. Each nomination is evaluated by the selection committee. In order to qualify, the person must be living and working in Muskingum county. Ware says there are eight different categories of nominations.
“There’s an education award–which is near and dear to my heart because I was an educator. There’s also a health care award, and a young adult award, professional award, and a business award, and a bright futures award for a young person, and a family lifetime service award,” Ware said.
There will also be a banquet on April 24 to honor the selected women. Tickets are $35 for family members of recipients and for past recipients. All other tickets are $45.
